TAQDEER  / DESTINY /FATE

This subject is very complex especially for weak believer they sometime wonder why Allah do this/that, such as innocent child suffer from poverty & disease. If the destiny is already recorded and unchangeable then what is the point, for us to do such and such [pray or good deed] ?

But if we observe the Quran, then we can understand it's dose ascribe a free, active role for mankind, describing they are capable of consciously fashioning their own destiny with a knowledge of [GOOD/ BAD/UGLY/BEAUTIFUL] and they have capacity to choose between them.

Unfortunately some SECT says it is a condition of [Imaan]belief in Islam. Anyway here are some verses which need to ponder to understand this topic.

The Quran 3:109
To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth; to Him do all questions go back (for decision).

The Quran 4:79
Whatever good, (O man!) happens to thee is from Allah; but whatever evil happens to thee is from thyself And We have sent thee, as a Messenger to (instruct) mankind: And enough is Allah for a witness

The Quran 16:35

The worshippers of false gods say: "If Allah had so willed, we should not have worshipped aught but Him¯ neither we nor our fathers¯ nor should we have prescribed prohibitions other than His." So did those who went before them. But what is the mission of messengers but to preach the Clear Message?

The Quran 17:19

Those who do wish for the (things of) the Hereafter, and strive therefor with all due striving, and have Faith¯ they are the ones whose striving is acceptable (to Allah).

The Quran 18:29

Say "The Truth is from your Lord": let him who will, believe, and let him who will, reject (it): for the wrongdoers We have prepared a Fire whose (smoke and flames), like the walls and roof of a tent will hem them in: if they implore relief they will be granted water like melted brass, that will scald their faces. How dreadful the drink! How uncomfortable a couch to recline on!

The Quran 25:57

Say: "No reward do I ask of you for it but this: that each one who will may take a (straight) Path to his Lord."

The Quran29:69

And those who strive in Our (Cause)¯ We will certainly guide them to Our Paths: for verily Allah is with those who do right

The Quran 39:52
Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the Guardian and Disposer of all affairs.

The Quran :57:22
No misfortune can happen on earth or in your souls but is recorded in a decree before We bring it into existence: that is truly easy for Allah

The Quran73:19

Verily this is an Admonition: therefore whoso will, let him take a (straight) path to his Lord!

The Quran 74:38

Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds.

The Quran 74:4

And thy garments keep free from stain!

The Quran 76:3

We showed him the Way: whether he be grateful or ungrateful (rests on his will).

The Quran 14:4
We sent not a messenger except (to teach) in the language of his (own) people, in order to make (things) clear to them. Now Allah leaves stray those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases: and He is Exalted in power, Full of Wisdom

The Quran 25:2
He unto Whom belonged the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, He hath chosen no son nor hath He any partner in the Sovereignty. He hath created everything and hath meted out for it a measure.

The Quran 13:17
He sends down water from the skies, and the channels flow, each according to its measure: but the torrent bears away the foam that mounts up to the surface. Even so, from that (ore) which they heat in the fire, to make ornaments or utensils therewith there is a scum likewise. Thus doth Allah (by parables) show forth Truth and Vanity: For the scum disappears like froth cast out; while that which is for the good of mankind remains on the earth. Thus doth Allah set forth parables.

The Quran 13:8
Allah knoweth that which every female beareth and that which the wombs absorb and that which they grow. And everything with Him is measured.

The Quran 6:96
He it is that cleaveth the daybreak (from the dark): He makes the night for rest and tranquillity, and the sun and moon for the reckoning (of time): such is the judgment and ordering of (Him), the Exalted in Power, the Omniscient.

The Quran 65:3
And He provides for him from (sources) he never could imagine. And if anyone puts his trust in Allah, sufficient is (Allah) for him. For Allah will surely accomplish His purpose: verily, for all things has Allah appointed a due proportion.

We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun

And among His Signs is this: thou seest the earth barren and desolate; but when We send down rain to it, it is stirred to life and yields increase. Truly He Who gives life to the (dead) earth can surely give life to (men) who are dead. For He has power over all things

The Quran 15:21
And there is not a thing but its (sources and) treasures (inexhaustible) are with Us; but We only send down thereof in due and ascertainable measures

MISUNDERSTANDING ON TERM TAQDEER

Main problem is when some people see some verse like [57:22] and immediately conclude that, whatever in their [fate/destiny] NO matter what they do, they can not change it. So what is the points doing anything. But they forget that they haven’t seen their FATE.Then how can they predict something which they haven’t seen ?

And if they ponder on some of the other  verse [6:38 /13:39] then they will understand clearly what is the verse [57:22] is talking about

The Quran :57:22
No misfortune can happen on earth or in your souls but is recorded in a decree before We bring it into existence: that is truly easy for Allah

The Quran 6:38

There is not a moving (living) creature on earth, nor a bird that flies with its two wings, but are communities like you. We have neglected nothing in the Book, then unto their Lord they (all) shall be gathered.

The Quran 13:39

Allah doth blot out or confirm what He pleaseth: with Him is the Mother of the Book.

However if we still want think like this, that we are like an instruments in the grand machinery of Fate, then why Allah punish or reward us for our actions, Since we are only following Allah’s intended programmed. Anyway lets analyse the term [Taqdeer] since this what such Question/Confusion.

The term [Taqdeer] has Three root letter [QAF–DAL-RA] has been used in Quran more then 130 time and it has several meaning such as [Measurement /Power /Control Restricted/ Appraise/ Estimated/ Straitens/ Overpower/ All capable /Able /Powerful/ Decreed/ Period/ Proportion/ According/ Cooking Pots/ Determined /Plotted/ Destined/ Pattern /Standard]

I did not find any verses in the Quran, that, say the [Good/Evil] deeds of an individuals are attributed to fate/destiny. Not a single verse can be found in which Allah said, that men do, suffer because of his Destiny.

CONCLUSION

This only happen to people who do not ponder on Quran carefully which clearly establish that human beings do have the free will to choose either way, or any path of action according to his own discretion.

If our fate already been decided or sealed, Allah would have never mentioned that man is to strive in His cause, as it would have been meaningless to strive and struggle for something which has already been decided. Hence by informing that to strive in His cause we would be guided to His ways it is confirmed that it is our struggle and action that will lead us to the path and pleasure of Allah and not what has been pre destined for us in our 'fate'.

However as difficult as it may be to accept, even bad things can result in something good if it brings us closer to Allah.  Although the reasons may not be apparent to us, Allah permits Satan to bring chaos into our lives, and to tempt us to commit heinous deeds. and may be we will do it sometime, because of human weakness but that could be also another test for us,to see if we remain steadfast & repent back to  Allah or we continuing toward Satan happiness

I personally believe Allah has full control & knowledge on everything. Allah did allow some limited power to me, do certain things, but if I am not careful I may end up doing something wrong. Therefore the majority of  bad thing is due to my own mistake. & if I do anything good/correctly then,  that is because of ALLAH'S MERCY on me. But since everything belong to Allah and  Allah has the overall power over EVERYTHING, therefore All Good & Bad from Allah- Allah knows best.
