HIJAB – KHIMAR- LIBAS

[Veil-Covering-Cloth ]

The accurate meaning of Hijab is a [Barrier or Veil] that could be on anything. We don’t have to direct this to specific clothing. The Book of Allah also talk about [Libasa] which mean to [wear]  and this wearing [cloth] do vary due to nationality & tradition. But mass majority people wear cloth because of fashion.

The so-called Islamic dress code [Hijab/Khimar] is also practice by other manmade religion [Jew / Christen / Hindu] But NO manmade practice  should class as Allah’s law, otherwise it is also kind of Shirik.

We find some verse talk about [Libas / Garment] to cover the physical [human] body. And there is an extra rule for [believing] women when they are outside/gathering.

However unfortunately some translator under influence of [so-called hadith] has translated [Khimar] into [Veil] Therefore such translation did mislead people to believe that, this verse is advocating the covering of the head.

The term [Jilbaab]is the plural of the word [Jilaabah] which refers to any long and loose-fit coat or garment worn by some women. The Term [BurQa/Burkha] it is enveloping outer garment worn by women on some so-called islamic country which is also a tradition. The BurQa & Jilbaab is same thing. However if we sincerely ponder on them below verses then we will able to understand [inshaAllah] what the Quran actually mean by term [Hijab].

THE VERSES WHICH CONTAIN TERM HIJAB/LIBAS/KHIMAR

The Quran 42:51

It is not fitting for a man that Allah should speak to him except by inspiration, or from behind a HIJAB/veil, or by the sending of a Messenger to reveal, with Allah's permission, what Allah wills: for He is Most High, Most Wise.

The Quran 19:16-17

The Quran 24:31

And let them not reveal their beauty except to their husbands, or their fathers, or fathers of their husbands, or their sons, or the sons of their husbands, or their brothers, or the sons of their brothers, or the sons of their sisters, or their women, or those committed to them by oath, or the male servants who are without need, or the child who has not yet understood the composition of women. And let them not strike with their feet in a manner that reveals what they are keeping hidden of their beauty. And repent to Allah, all of you believers, that you may succeed

The Quran 33:59

The Quran 33:55

POINTS DERIVE FROM ABOVE VERSE

[42:51] Allah speak to Man by three medium and one of them condition is HIJAB behind the Veil.

[19:16-17] Maryum withdrew from family away from sight of Mankind that is also class as “she took a [Hijab]

[83:15] Allah’s[mercy] will Hijab toward disbeliever.

[41:5] in this verse it is not taking about such physical cloth but it is mental HIJAB

[17:45] Again here it’s talk about [hijab] of Understanding not clothing

[7:31] this verse tell as to be smart & wear nice cloth specially in Mosque

[7:26] we shuld use garment to cover our Shame / adornment & must try to act  righteously.

[33:59] This indicate Man to give order their women to wear [lengthy/ lose outfit] when they go out.

[33:55]This indicate women may relax with their dress code around

[fathers,/Sons/Brothers/Sons of brothers / Sons of sisters/ Other women /Servants]

[24:60] The elderly women could also relax on dress code, provided they do not reveal too much of their bodies. & maintain modesty.

[24:31/3:14] Them verses Indicate women as adornment and use word [Zina- Beauty].Therefore women are physically & psychologically adornment for mankind from head to toes.

[24:31] Allah did not used word [Inun/ Eye] but has been use the term  [Absar – Sight] & most of the palace the Quran did talk about [Insight] Therefore when Allah say to believing men & women to lower their gaze it’s Also mean having/doing Hijab on [insight /Feeling /Emotion ] that may lead to any shameful Act such as [Adultery] But one can look at each other face when communicating, NO need to look down or up/round by.

[24:31] This verse say “except what is apparent” . To find out what can be class as Apparent or what can be exposed in general, We need to ponder on the verse [Q5:6] which say Allah has commanded us to wash/rub [ Face/ Hands up elbows / Head / Feet ] before Prayer. Therefore it is the obvious parts of men & women to expose in general.

Also when Allah mention [ 24:31] women not to expose their  "beauty" except for to their husbands, brothers, uncles, Etc etc, does that mean they can show their  private parts?

To understand or get answer to that question one need to ponder on verse 24:60 which indicate, any elderly women who has no desire MAY be ease on their OUTER garment. But still they have to avoid showing “BIZINATIN = WITH AN ADORNMENT”

Now to me this “bizinatin” is indicating to their privet parts. And by NATURE every single [civilised / conscious] mankind do hide their privet parts from exposing to others [save littlie children and female privet part is extended then male] ....And this verse 24:60 content physical and mental issue .

[24:31 First portion is talking about]
Female believers must reduce their vision or lower their gaze [sexy looks or seducing male or looking at male in desire intention]

[24:31 Second portion is talking about]
And they should guard their chastity / privet part [doing shameful or unlawful sexual act]

[24:31 Third portion is talking about]
And NOT to expose ZINZTAHUNAH=THEIR [physical body] ADORMENT” except what ZAHARA =APPARENT [face, head, Hand, feet]

[24:31 Forth portion is talking about]
And they should use shawl to cover their chests / breast

[24:31 Fifth portion is talking about]
And NOT display to ZINZTAHUNAH =THEIR [emotional attachment] ADORMENT except to their husbands, fathers, husbands' fathers, sons, husbands' sons, brothers, brothers' sons, sisters' sons,  what right hands possess, or to male whom has no physical desire, or children.

[24:31 Sixth portion is talking about]
And they should avoid stamping their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment,

[24:31 Seventh portion is talking about]
And they seek repentance to Allah in order get success.

NOW IF WE LOOK CLOSELY ON BOTH VERSES WE SEE, IT IS TALKING ABOUT PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ACTION OR ATTITUDE And for that reason I mention it connected to verse 24:60 .

THEREFORE TO ME WHEN ALLAH MENTION ” ZINZTAHUNAH “ ON THE FIFTH PORTION OF THE VERES 24:31. IT IS TALKING ABOUT EMOTIONAL ATTACHMENT which could lead to DISASTER or harassment for the believing women, if she show such emotion to wrong person whom could interpret it wrongly.

CONCLUSION

Allah, the Most Merciful, gave us basic rules for the dress code for [Men /Women] and the garment is the garment of righteousness. And we should always try to look smart and wear best smart garment/dress as possible specially in Mosque /Gathering.

[1] Women should cover their chest [bosoms].

[2] Women should lengthen their garment [extra cloth around]on public arena

[3] Hijab on insight is more important as well as physical for both [Men/Women]

[4] Older women can relax on cretin dress code as mention

[5] Women can exposed Head / Face / Hand/ Feet [ see Q5:6]

Lastly to me any Muslim women can wear head Gear & Naqab which is not haram to wear. And they should NOT get criticise doing such things, everyone has a right of a personal choice. Yet it is NOT the commandments of Allah neither anyone will be sinful if they don't practice such style of HIJAB/KHIMAR. [Allah knows best]
